All right! So this is the haul/review half of my Nars Workshop documentation. I did get a little crazy at the Nars stall, I now realize.

Again, I was not paid or sent freebies to review these products. All the gunk featured in this entry were purchased by yours truly. These are my personal opinions on these products based on my experiences with them.

The Epic Nars Haul

PURE MATTE LIPSTICKS

Left: Volga
Right: Bangkok

Pros: sleek, gorgeous, tight packaging; beautiful colors; pigmented; less drying than other matte lipsticks and do not exacerbate dry lips
Cons: price (if I remember correctly, one is PHP1450); do not live up to claim of hydration; a little difficult to apply evenly

LARGER THAN LIFE VOLUMIZING MASCARA

Pros: intense, buildable, does not make lashes look and feel stringy
Cons: clumpy, expensive (I forget exactly how much it was, but I think it was around PHP1700)

BLUSHES

Left: Orgasm, Right: Gina

Unblended (Left: Gina, Right: Orgasm)

Blended a bit (Left: Gina, Right: Orgasm)

Orgasm

Pros: versatile, sheer and buildable, looks good on many skin tones
Cons: rough and bumpy in pot

Gina

Pros: highly pigmented, gorgeous color, long-lasting
Cons: none! It looks scary orange, but when applied, it’s beautiful

FIRMING FOUNDATION (in Barcelona)

Pros: a little goes a long way, pump, wide variety of shades, buildable coverage, feels light on skin
Cons: dries too quickly, a bit hard to blend, flakes in some areas if not applied properly, no help with oil control

LIPSTICK (in Belle de Jour)

*Gunkie Note: It looks more orange in pictures than it really is! The swatch is more accurate so please use that if you want a better reference.

Pros: sheer but buildable, beautiful nude shade (for lighter skin tones. If you’re darker, this might wash you out even more or make you look strange)
Cons: too slippery, settles in fine lines, hard to get even coverage

And last, but definitely not the least…

THE MAKEUP POUCH

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!!!!

Gunkie Recs and Raves

I am in love with the Pure Matte Lipstick in Volga.

Gina looks gorgeous when applied; I didn’t think I would love it so much, but now it’s the blush I use everyday.

The Firming Foundation isn’t perfect, but it’s still the best foundation I’ve tried. Remember though, that everyone has different needs and preferences, so this might not necessarily work for you.

The Nars makeup pouch is THE BEST THING THAT’S EVER HAPPENED TO ME SINCE EYESHADOW PRIMERS.

I was very unhappy with the Nars workshop that happened a couple of weeks ago. Click here for more on that.

That’s all, folks! Gunkie out!

  1. the make up pouch looks wonderful. sayang just bought the mac travel kit. can’t spend for anything like it for awhile.
tempted to try gina (not sure if its works well with my skin type though)

    1. Just go to a Nars stall and swatch it first. If you don’t have a good brush though, I wouldn’t recommend Gina because it’s so pigmented that it will be difficult to control with a not so excellent brush.
