When I got to the store a bit before noon, the collection was still nowhere to be seen. Thankfully, that isn’t because it had sold out, but because they hadn’t launched it yet.

Kang, who couldn’t be more different from the former MAC manager in Powerplant (an entity who shall remain nameless for the sole reason that her name brings bile up my throat), was very, very nice to me, and allowed me to pick out the eye shadow and lipstick I wanted from the collection. She went above and beyond when I asked if I could already swatch the testers that were still hidden away; to my surprise, they immediately began setting up the displays just so I could have better pictures for my blog!

Kang and… I forgot to ask what his name was. 🙁

Cheek Powder in My Paradise (swatched twice)

Oh, this is one of MAC’s better collections! I only got Hibiscus and Sun Blonde, but most everything else was gorgeous. I wish I could have swatched the Crushed Metallic Pigment Stacks, which looked lovely, but they did not have a tester at the time. 🙁

Of the lipsticks, I only disliked Naturally Eccentric, which looked pasty WHITE. I couldn’t imagine anyone wearing such a hideous shade. If it were really opaque, then it’d look a little bit more… editorial as opposed to “yes, I’m white and totally wearable!” The lipsticks were 1,050PHP each. Regular lipsticks, which, once upon a time, were 900PHP, are now 1000PHP.

ALL the eyeshadows were surprisingly very, very good. I rarely like limited edition eyeshadows (the ones from Venomous Villains were particularly awful), but these were just SO GOOD. I would’ve bought all of them if I could. If I had to pick a least favorite, it would be Saffron. The best would be Sun Blonde. One eyeshadow costs 950PHP. A regular eyeshadow is 900PHP.

The bronzing powders and careblend pressed powders  all looked beautiful, though I personally dislike the red tones I think I see in the bronzing powders.

If you’re a fan of bronzer sticks, the ones that came out with this collection are worth checking out. I despise Gilty Bronze, which registers way too gold and shimmery for my liking. These things are very intense, which I don’t like in bronzers, so use a very light hand during application.

Of the lipglasses, I surprisingly liked Girl on Board, which looks stark white. I just imagine it to give a pretty, subtle shimmer to the lips. I think Strange Potion and Good Lovin’ are excruciatingly boring. Krazy Kahuna is quite pigmented. I would’ve gotten it if its opacity didn’t scare me too much.

The powerpoint pencils were awesome! Get them if you can! I just gave them up because I still have similar shades.

I totally get why a lot of people like the My Paradise cheek powder. The coral shade by itself is gorgeous. Mixed with the gold, it reminds me of Nars Orgasm, but more subtle.

I’m pretty sure most of the gunk sold out within an hour or two after the launch; stocks that are sent here are very limited. However, MAC Powerplant has yet to launch. I believe they will do so this Saturday. The witch who used to run that branch has resigned, so I believe shopping there will be a much better experience.

Am I done or am I done? I think I’m done! Thanks for reading! The Internet finally stabilized enough to get this post up in time!
